The first year of a new generation of Camaro is honored by being selected as the Indy 500 Pace Car for 1993.
The 1993 Camaro pace car is considered one of the rarest Camaros around, only 645 were produced.

A preview 1997 30th Anniversary model Z28 was selected to pace NASCAR's Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on August 3, 1996.

1998 Indianapolis 500 & Brickyard 400 Parade Cars


The car above was one of the convertibles used during the 500 parade laps and ceremonies before the race. The Official Pace Car title went to the purple & yellow colored 1998 Corvette.


This 1998 SS convertible was used during the Brickyard 400 parade laps and ceremonies.
The Official Pace Car was the 1998 Monte Carlo with a similar paint scheme.

An unknown number of both of these 1998 parade cars were produced. It is likely that all or most were stripped of their decals and paint shemes and turned back into "plain" Z28's and SS's.
